Max Giglio

Music has played a very important part in Max Giglio’s life since his childhood. He started to study violin at the age of 6 but found out during his teenage years that his favorite instrument was the
voice.

Quite versatile, he studied opera singing, musical, pop and jazz. Although he appreciates many
genres, his favorite is undeniably jazz. In the past 10 years he attended many jazz courses and workshops with great Italian and International singers and musicians (Roberta Gambarini, Ian Shaw, Tiziana Ghiglioni, Marianne Sullivan, Andrea Pozza, Paolo Silvestri, Barbara Raimondi, Pietro Leveratto, Diana Torto…) and got his master degree in Jazz Singing at the Genova Conservatory in 2020.

Max performs regularly all over Northern West Italy with talented musicians of the Italian Jazz Scene. He recorded his first album. Arco-íris, in 2018: a tribute to the Brazilian music in Italian Language and culture with the band Progetto Sabia and appeared as a guest vocalist in other recordings (in the album Zero of the Soft Morning Duo and in the EP When Reality Disarticulatesof the Progressive-metal band Asymmetric Universe).

One of his strongest passions is to learn and speak foreign languages. He has a degree in Foreign Languages and Literature and sings in 6 different languages: Italian, English, Portuguese, French,
Spanish and German.
He is also active as a songwriter and loves to collaborate with composers as a lyricist (Calma, a
song he cowrote with the guitarist Gianluca Palazzo was performed in various renowned Jazz Festivals all over Italy). In August 2020 he got to opportunity to present his own jazz tunes during the Forum Live Jazz Festival in Forlì, Italy.
Besides his performing activities, he is also a passionate teacher and founded his own school in
2019 in Torino called “Melacanto, l’officina della vocalità”.
